A Mount Saint Mary College alumni panel on March 3 featured four media studies/production graduates discussing the secrets to their success.
Jacqueline Conklin ‘15 of the Times Herald-Record; Christopher Repetti ‘10 of Sony; Rachel Sangalli ’14 of NBC; and Anthony DiNoto ’09 of the West Point Alumni Office detailed their professional paths after graduation. About 50 current Mount media studies/production students were in attendance.
“My day-to-day in Sony Studio is whatever needs to be done,” explained Repetti. “They say ‘video editor’ as a job title, but really, these days you need to be a jack of all trades. The education I got at the Mount let me touch on all different elements of the production process – writing, scripting, producing, sound design, after effects, and more.”
The event was spearheaded by Kathleen O’Keefe, associate director of the college’s Career Center.
The Career Center prepares students for varied career opportunities in the Hudson Valley, New York City, the Capital Region, and beyond. Each semester, the center hosts programs such as job fairs, events featuring specific academic programs, business dining etiquette courses, interview and job search strategies workshops, and off-campus professional visits to help pre-professionals explore career paths.
